Patient Comfort and Technology Services
Many people are nervous about coming to the dentist.
All it takes is one bad experience to ruin all future
visits. That’s why we do everything we can to
make your visit as comfortable as possible. If visiting
the dentist makes you a little uneasy, we can offer
you any of these patient comfort and technology services.
- Air Abrasion - For certain small cavities, Air
Abrasion can mean NO needles and NO drills. A high powered stream of
air, with powder, cleans decay from small cavities on the chewing surfaces
of back teeth, allowing a white filling to be bonded in place. In the
right circumstances it is quick, painless and conserves tooth structure.
- DIAGNOdent - A small, portable laser unit that
can detect these cavities and alert us with an audible signal and also
provide a numerical readout, so we have an idea of it's size. The value
is that we can stop cavities in their infancy, whereas in the past
they would have to be significantly bigger before we could find and
treat them.
- Digital Radiography - To improve your care we've
invested in a new way of looking into your mouth—a procedure
that's fast, and incredibly precise – digital x-rays. What's
even more amazing is that we get an image immediately that is large,
clear, and accurate, right next to your chair…ready for discussion.
Also, digital x-rays use 50-90% less radiation than old-fashioned x-rays.
- Intra-Oral Camera - This new
technology lets you see what we see. This helps
in discussing a proposed treatment and while Dr.
Keith and Dr. Fisher explain what they are doing
you will be able to see the effects in real time.
- Comfort - For the more complex procedures, we
also offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation to keep
you comfortable and relaxed.
- Entertainment - For entertainment and distraction,
we have headphones and DVD movies available in all
rooms. You can tuck yourself into a blanket and
keep your mind on more pleasant things.
- Sterilization Center - We can maximize efficient
sterilization and minimize the chance of contamination
through human error. If you have any questions,
we would be happy to demonstrate our sterilization
procedures.
