How does the doctor keep up-to-date
on all of the current techniques and materials?
Dr. Keith and Dr. Fisher are dedicated to excellence
in their profession. Both of our doctors attend well
over the minimum amount of continuing education courses,
including dental materials, aesthetics and implantology.
They are members of major trade associations such
as the American Dental Association and the Academy
of General Dentistry. In an effort to learn about
the latest advances in dentistry, Dr. Keith has achieved
fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry
and the ICOI. He is also a member of the American
Dental Association and the American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry. As a team and as individuals, our entire
office makes it our responsibility to be familiar
with the latest techniques and materials available.

Do you accept new patients
and referrals?
Yes, we do! The highest complement you can give
us is to refer your friends, family, and co-workers
to our practice. When our existing clients refer
people to our practice it allows our practice
to grow and refine the level of comfort and
care we can provide all our patients by allowing
us to keep up to date on the latest techniques
and methods in dentistry.

Do you accept my insurance
plan?
At our practice, we work with our patients to file
their claims. This way, we spend less time dealing
with insurance companies and more time focusing on
your care. We will work with your insurance company
and can do predeterminations for you on request. Understanding
Dental Insurance
Insurance should never dictate the quality of something
as important as your dental health. Therefore, we
also offer reasonable financing options to pay for
your treatment over several months. If you have any
questions, call us at 336-288-1242 and speak with
Nancy or Billie Jo.

My gums bleed after I brush.
Is this something to be concerned about?
It is certainly not desirable to have bleeding gums
following brushing. Bleeding gums can be caused by
any of the following: improper, rough, ‘scrubbing’
instead of gentle, circular brushing motions; using
a hard-bristled tooth brush instead of a soft one;
plaque and/or tartar build-up below the gum line;
or gum sensitivity due to gingivitis or periodontal
disease. If this problem persists despite correct
brushing and flossing methods or occurs every time
you brush, contact our office to set up an evaluation
appointment.

I really do not like visiting
the dentist, is there anything you can do to help
me relax?
We understand many people are nervous about going
to the dentist. So, we strive to create a relaxing
atmosphere. For entertainment and distraction, we
have headphones and DVD movies available in all rooms
so you can keep your mind on more pleasant things.
And for the more complex procedures, we also offer
laughing gas and oral sedation to keep you comfortable
and relaxed.

What type of tooth whitening
do you offer?
We use the Nite White®, an at home teeth whitening
system. The Peppermint Cream flavored whitening gel
is applied by the patient at home with a tray that
is custom fitted by the dentist. The gel whitens the
teeth while the patient sleeps, with amazing results
in only 7-10 nights.

I do not like drills. Are
there any other options?
The whining sound of a drill can make the most comfortable
person squirm. That’s why, in our practice,
we use electric hand pieces and air abrasion instruments
that are quieter and more comfortable. If you are
still concerned, Dr. Keith and Dr. Fisher are always
happy to demonstrate how these instruments work.

Crowns, veneers, onlays,
inlays and partials…where can I learn more about
these procedures?
Dr. Keith and Dr. Fisher usually recommend these
restorative procedures as part of a permanent restoration.
They are easier on your mouth, longer lasting, and
more aesthetic looking. The American
Dental Association also has information on these
procedures and others.
If you are curious about any procedure we recommend,
we always welcome your questions. As professionals
in the dental field, we keep up on the latest
research and findings, so we can answer your
questions. You can also refer to Caesy, a patient
education system in our office that you can
access to print information on a particular
procedure.

What precautions do you take
to ensure patient safety?
Our practice takes a variety of precautions to ensure
patient safety. First, our office complies and exceeds
OSHA standards for safety. Our team is thoroughly
trained in the latest sterilization procedures and
research. We wear protective masks, gowns, and gloves
during your examination and dispose of them when your
visit is complete. We also have a sterilization center
where we can maximize efficient sterilization and
minimize the chance of contamination through human
error. If you have any questions, we would be happy
to demonstrate our sterilization procedures.
